All horse lovers are encouraged to join the Kierson Kavaliers Youth Group.
American Saddlebred Horse Association Youth Clubs, like the Kierson Kavaliers, are the perfect place to meet other young people interested in horses, and the perfect way to become involved with American Saddlebreds. You do not have to ride to participate!
All Young Horse Enthusiasts And Their Friends Are Welcome! In addition to a wide variety of activities and projects, both entertaining and educational, participation in an ASHA Youth Club provides the opportunity to participate in all the horse-related and community involved adventures. There is no charge to join, just occasional cost for food and supplies.
The Kierson Kavaliers had an amazing 2014!
Starting off in January with Movie Night, they watched Black Beauty, and filled out their Ribbons of
Service applications. In February they made Valentines for their favorite
horses, and helped with an Open House.
March hosted another Open House, and they helped set up and put on the ASHA of NJ Tournament. April was especially exciting, the Kavaliers hosted a Ride A Thon for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and their Ribbons of Service Project. The event raised over $9,000 and had over 50 participants.
The Memorial Day Parade in May is one of the Kavaliers favorites. Following the parade, the Kavaliers set up a pony petting station and introduced kids to the ponies. In May the Kavaliers also helped with the Kierson Farm Fun Show,
handing out ribbons, getting horses ready, and serving as ring masters.
June was a very busy month. The Kavaliers members hosted Bake Sales
at the local shows and sold Tumblers to raise money for St. Jude Children’s
Research Hospital. In June they also had a Kierson Farm T-shirt decorating
contest and took a trip to the historic Devon Horse Show in PA.
July brought another ASHA NJ Tournament for the Kavaliers to help at. In August the Kavaliers won first prize for the Zaniest Golf Cart at the World Championship Horse Show Youth Golf Cart Decorating Contest.
A very special time for the Kavaliers came in September. They hosted a very special day for the Foster Children of the One Simple Wish Program.
These foster children got to spend the day at Kierson, including a riding
lesson, games, grooming the horses, and much more. The Kavaliers were
so happy to see how excited and grateful the One Simple Wish children
were about being with the horses. In October the Kavaliers helped at
another open house, sold pumpkins for Ribbons of Service, and
volunteered at the local Ride For The Cure trail ride.
November was very fun for the Kavaliers. They held a clothing and food drive, helped with the Kierson Halloween Party, helped at the ASHA NJ Tournament, and had a great time watching the show at Medieval Times. The Kavaliers did and amazing job giving back to the community for the Holidays. They made a donation to Toys For Tots of over 50 items. They also had a great time on the float in the Hunterdon Holiday Parade!
The Kavaliers work very hard to give back to the community through
volunteer work, raising money, and hosting events that brighten someone
else’s life. They also have a lot of fun along the way!
